All the F1 (3 – 4 year old) children and the F2 (4 – 5 year old) are now accommodated in our new Foundation Stage Building.  This was built at a cost of £1.8 million.  The setting first opened to children on 10th September 2007.

We have 6 classrooms which are named after Cyprus birds.  The structure of the classes are as follows:-

F1 Swallows

F1 Flamingos

F1 Kingfishers

(3-4 year olds)

F2 Swallows

F2 Flamingos

F2 Kingfishers

(4-5 year olds)

Each have 3 Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), the majority of whom are qualified to Level 3 standard.

One of the LSAs in each class is the designated Team Leader

Each have 1 Class Teacher, 1 Learning Support Assistant

At present we also have 3 NVQ2 Students on long-term placements with us.  They are timetabled to work across F1 and F2 classes.

The 2 Bee-eaters classrooms are currently used for small group work but a new class F1 Bee-eaters will be set up from January 2009 to receive the F1 intake of children in the Spring and Summer Terms.

The Foundation Stage Leader, Allison Clark, monitors the provision in F2 and is heavily involved in the organisation, planning and assessment of children in F1.

Generally we are well-resourced and in October 2007 we took delivery of £35,000 of new classroom furniture and equipment!

We place high emphasis on working in partnership with parents and have various methods by which we seek to ensure effective communication and the fostering of good relationships.

Please see the copies of our newsletters for information about our recent events.  We look forward to welcoming you!
