It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our school
website.

My
name is Steve Jorgensen. I have been a Headteacher for over 20 years and
Akrotiri School is my fourth Headship. I joined Akrotiri in September
2005. My wife Jill is a retired primary school Headteacher and we have two
sons, who having graduated from university now live and work in England.
My wife and I have quarters and live on Akrotiri RAF Station.
I hope you will find
the information on this site interesting and informative and reflective of
our school philosophy, values and approach. As a school, my colleagues and
I aim to provide quality learning experiences which recognise the
importance of the core subjects whilst also offering opportunities for
creativity and fun across the curriculum.
We provide a
caring and happy positive atmosphere in which a child may fulfil his/her
potential and grow in self-confidence and respect for people and the
environment.
We have a
set of agreed school values that were established through discussions with
all members of our school community including our children. These values
drive everything we do and act as our touchstone. We recognise that being
posted abroad can cause parents to be concerned about educational
continuity and your child’s well being. Akrotiri is a wonderful
environment for children and families and we strive to make your
children’s educational and social experiences during your tour as
rewarding as possible.
We hope you find the information you want whilst looking through the site
but please do contact us if you have any further questions.
Steve Jorgensen OBE,
